Abstract

The article examines a few verbal formations with the suffix *-tv(o), registered in the Old and Middle Russian languages, as well as in the dialects. It also discusses their derivational and semantic connections with their motivating words. Attention is paid to the nature of the relationship between the studied derivatives and formations with the final element *-tv(a). The formal and semantic connection of the derivatives ending in *-tv(o) and *-tv(a) is obvious, and this fact requires particular interpretation.
