Processes of the 18th century borrowings development in Russian newspapers of the first half of the 19th century

Determined by the development of journalism the influence of the journalistic style on the literary language is growing in various fields since 20-30s of the 19^th century. One of such spheres is the borrowing. The article analyzes the processes of the 18^th century borrowings development in the texts of newspapers of the first half of the 19^th century, that represented an extensive lexical base, in which, thanks to the effective translation activity of journalists, large number of foreign words were assimilated. The history of the words аккомпанемент, доллар, гоэлетта, контральто, пиццикато, фортепьяно, аномалия, etc. is considered.
