Abstract
The article deals with stem-compounds (adjectives and nouns) with a varying second base –твор– and –род– as part of terms and terminological phrases. The chronology of emergence of these lexemes is specified. It is shown that the reason for the variance of the analyzed units is due to the nature of their origin as calques with different foreign-language prototypes.
